Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement

Our editors and staff work diligently to ensure that the content we publish is ethically sound. To achieve this goal, we adhere to the guidelines and flowcharts established by COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics).

Edu Islamica: Journal of Islamic Education is published by PT. Qalam Saintifik Media, based in Ponorogo. This statement clarifies the ethical behavior of all parties involved in the article publication process, including authors, the editorial board, peer reviewers, and the publisher. This statement is based on COPE’s Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors.

1. Publication Ethics Guidelines

The publication of an article in Edu Islamica is a vital building block in the development of a coherent and respected network of knowledge. It is a direct reflection of the quality of the work of the authors and the institutions that support them. Peer-reviewed articles support and embody the scientific method. It is therefore important to agree upon standards of expected ethical behavior for all parties involved: the author, the journal editor, the peer reviewer, the publisher, and the public.

PT. Qalam Saintifik Media, as the publisher, takes its duties of guardianship over all stages of publishing extremely seriously and recognizes its ethical and other responsibilities. We are committed to ensuring that advertising, reprint, or other commercial revenue has no impact or influence on editorial decisions.

2. Allegations of Research Misconduct

Research misconduct includes fabrication, falsification, citation manipulation, or plagiarism in proposing, performing, or reviewing research, or in reporting research results.

Editorial Action: If an author is found to be involved in misconduct, the Editor is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the scientific record using COPE best practices.
Investigation: Manuscripts found to contain misconduct will be rejected. If the article has already been published, a formal retraction will be issued and linked to the original article.
Procedure: The corresponding author will be requested to provide a detailed response to the allegations before a final decision is made.

3. Authorship

Authorship should be limited to those who have made a significant contribution to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the reported study. All significant contributors should be listed as co-authors. The corresponding author must ensure that all co-authors have seen and approved the final version of the paper before submission.

4. Complaints and Appeals

Edu Islamica provides a transparent procedure for handling complaints against the journal, editorial staff, or the publisher. The scope of complaints includes:

Editorial strategies & citation manipulation.
Editor or reviewer unfairness.
Peer-review manipulation.

5. Conflict of Interest

All authors are required to disclose any substantive or financial conflicts of interest (such as project funding sources) in their manuscript that might be construed to influence the results or interpretation of their work.

6. Data and Reproducibility

Authors should be prepared to provide public access to raw data in connection with a paper for editorial review or verification of the research results if requested.

7. Ethical Oversight

If the research involves human subjects, animals, hazardous chemicals, or specialized procedures, the authors must clearly identify these in the manuscript. Authors are required to provide Ethical Clearance from the relevant authorities upon request.

8. Post-Publication Discussions and Corrections

We facilitate discussions and corrections from readers regarding published articles. If a correction is accepted by the Editor-in-Chief:

The discussion/correction will be published as a Letter to the Editor.
The original authors will be granted the right of reply, which will be published as a Reply to the Letter to the Editor.
